The Postepskis have enjoyed many holidays I've booked for them over the years. In 2024, they travelled with Santa's Lapland and stayed at Santa's Hotel Tunturi in Saariselkä for three nights over Christmas.
I asked 11-year-old Luca to tell me about his Lapland adventure...
It was our first time in Lapland, and honestly, the whole trip was way better than what I had imagined - it was magical!
My favourite thing, other than meeting Santa, was definitely the longest toboggan run in Europe at the ski slopes. It was the most exciting fun!
The sleigh ride was incredible too - the huskies' speed surprised me loads. They were so fast!
Meeting Santa was brilliant. He was exactly how you'd hope Santa would be, and it felt really special doing it at Christmas.

We saw the the Northern Lights! There were waves of yellow and green that shifted across the sky. The stars were also beautiful and clear, and you could see so many constellations. We didn't actually see them on the Northern Lights hunt - we saw them from the viewing platform at the hotel, which was even better because we could just watch them properly.

It was warmer than I expected it to be. We put on three layers - thermals, a hoodie and the snowsuit we hired - and that kept us really warm.
We had reindeer burgers and reindeer beef. The reindeer beef was the best! It's quite different from normal beef but in a good way.
The locals were so kind and chatty, but yes, they are very different from what we're used to. They live in darkness for most of the day, which is quite strange to think about. One interesting thing I learned was that they have way more reindeer than people there!
I would definitely like to go back! If I could go back to Lapland, I would do the huskies, tobogganing, and Northern Lights hunt again. The whole experience was just amazing.
The best parts were meeting Santa and the toboggan run - those two things were unforgettable.
Luca, age 11
