Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel, Tenerife

Tenerife’s Roca Nivaria has consistently been a favourite with my clients, many of them returning repeatedly over recent years.

Only a 4-hour flight from the UK, and with temperatures rarely falling below 21°c, Tenerife is an excellent option for a year-round destination, and this is a splendid choice of hotel to enhance any celebration, with fabulous facilities for guests of all ages.

Its unique location in Costa Adeje, in the tranquil Playa Paraíso area, guarantees stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean and La Gomera Island with the hotel also boasting direct lift access to a small idyllic cove housing the most charming beach.

The hotel itself has two large infinity pools with the younger guests benefiting from an additional heated pool of their own and the recently opened RoniAventura theme park, which is divided into Dry and Wet sections.

The Dry section is dedicated to fun activities and adventures for all ages, all with a jungle theme. Cross the suspension bridges, climb the ‘Rocodrome’ wall or find your inner bravery and dare to ride the zip-line.

The Wet section includes four different water slides and waterfalls, several water jets and lots of games, including finding and exploring a sunken ship.

If that all sounds too energetic, parents, you can take time out relaxing on the sun terrace with hammocks and shaded areas. Why not take in the ocean views whilst enjoying a refreshing drink from the bar?

The seven room types can sleep from two to four people and if two rooms are required, the hotel will guarantee interconnecting rooms at the time of booking, alleviating any possible anxiety of having to share with your children. It is a holiday, after all!

The Junior Suites are very popular, some of which (although they cannot be guaranteed) have a door separating the two sleeping areas.

If you prefer something more opulent then why not book the Presidential Suite? This large accommodation offers the option of having either one or two bedrooms. Either option has two bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi and the other with a bathtub and separate shower where you can utilise your complimentary Bulgari amenities. Two large terraces with sweeping views of the ocean are furnished with umbrellas and sun beds. Staying here also includes the use of a poolside cabana for the duration of your stay.

Younger guests will be delighted with the entertainment on offer, including their very own mascot Roni, a pilot whale who loves playing in the sea during the day and dancing at the mini disco in the evening.

The complimentary baby club is available from 10 months old, where little ones have everything they could need and are looked after by the hotel’s highly skilled staff.

The daily mini club provides lots of activities for children from 4-12 years old, giving them the space to explore the well-equipped indoor playroom or the vibrant outdoor playground.

While the kids are playing, book yourself some time out to rejuvenate at the spa, taking in the views whilst relaxing in the hydromassage pool or on the heated beds. Perhaps try the specialist steam bath at relatively low temperatures for mud, algae and cream treatments plus there is also a private suite bookable for couples or families with its own jacuzzi for special family, anniversaries or birthday treats.

The fully equipped gym, if you must, will provide for whatever your preferred choices of machine or weights are.

Tennis classes for all ages and levels are provided at the hotel’s two courts, and for golfers there are several highly regarded courses in Costa Adeje at which the hotel can arrange discounted trips to.

My recommendation would be to either go for the half board or the all-inclusive option, depending on which would be more beneficial to your specific requirements, an integral part of my fact-finding when exploring your holiday options.

With four excellent restaurants to choose from, including Spanish and Italian cuisine, you can be sure of finding something to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

After dinner, live music and professional shows enliven the hotel’s Colloquium bar every night, and even the younger generation can dance the night away at the mini disco “Belingo Club”.

The Roca Nivaria is unquestionably worthy of consideration for a celebration holiday and with a good selection of flights at several times of the day from all regional UK airports, I can find the best options that work for you.
